Veteran's Day Parade - RMS Band

Here is Ethan in his first marching band.  He is looking good. They had been practicing around the neighborhood close to their school.  And this band gets to march in the Veteran's Parade every year in downtown Bakersfield.  Lauren  and I stayed home with baby Jacob, while Steve took Rachel, Matthew and Matthew's friend Anthony to watch. 

Jacob's First Visitors

This was three days after you were born.  Your Aunt Lisa, Sarah & Rebecca were in town celebrating Grandma's birthday at Disneyland like they always do.  The timing was perfect for them and Grandpa to come and meet you.  However, there was a little bit of a fuss over who got to hold you first.  I think Aunt Lisa won. 

 

 

We also had a little celebration for Grandma too.  Her birthday is four days after yours, November 8.

Here is your story Jacob! 

Truth be told, we were done having children.  Two boys and two girls, even numbers, I'm almost 40, my baby is 6 years old, just moved into a new house comfy enough for four kids and really don't need to have any other reasons to think I am done having children.  This is definitely one of the great blessings in disguise.  Your Dad was severed from bp, where he had been for 10 years in Katy, Texas and was unemployed for almost a year. Then he got a job with Occidental Petroleum in Bakersfield, CA.  Which by the way he loves! But during all the move and craziness, you decided to pop into our lives.  This is the blessing in disguise part.  Had your Dad not lost his job, I'm 99% sure we wouldn't have been blessed with the cutest baby ever.   Your whole family loves you sooo much!
