Here is your story Jacob! 

Truth be told, we were done having children.  Two boys and two girls, even numbers, I'm almost 40, my baby is 6 years old, just moved into a new house comfy enough for four kids and really don't need to have any other reasons to think I am done having children.  This is definitely one of the great blessings in disguise.  Your Dad was severed from bp, where he had been for 10 years in Katy, Texas and was unemployed for almost a year. Then he got a job with Occidental Petroleum in Bakersfield, CA.  Which by the way he loves! But during all the move and craziness, you decided to pop into our lives.  This is the blessing in disguise part.  Had your Dad not lost his job, I'm 99% sure we wouldn't have been blessed with the cutest baby ever.   Your whole family loves you sooo much!

MP Baby Shower & Lisa Goodbye!

So my sweet sweet neighbors, who are always thinking about others, had a baby shower for me & Jacob. They all can't wait for him to arrive. It was at the OTHER Melissa's house. She made some homemade Lasagna and we had garlic bread, a special MP block salad, and some cute cupcakes with the letter "J" on them. No games were needed here, as we always just have a great time when we are together. Again, I am overwhelmed by the gracious generosity of so many people. These fabulous ladies gave me another car seat, another noise maker, a bunch of those little needed items you need when having a baby and a basket full of pampering items (along with a pregnancy test) and a gift certificate to get a pedicure. (My poor feet are in bad condition)
So apparently, Target doesn't do a very good job of keeping track of what people have purchased from their registry. So I of course had to take back a few things, but was able to get a stroller and some other needed items.

After the baby shower was done, we turned our attention to Lisa, who is the Monarch Palm Queen. I put together a Monarch Butterfly themed photo album, with a sweet message from each one of her friends here on Monarch Palm and some great pictures of our wonderful memories together. She couldn't even read it, which was fine, because I think we all would have been in tears. So we took a walk down Monarch Palm to see how the movers were doing and to say one last good-bye to our cafe. We called her table and chairs that were out front our cafe. When you got a text that said meet at the cafe, we all new what that meant. She even had us all sign it.

OXY Baby Shower

So I got an invitation to my baby shower hosted by Steve's department at OXY. They had arranged a lovely luncheon, ALONG with some real baby shower games. The food was delicious. We had chicken enchiladas, spanish rice, salad, guacamole and chips and for dessert.....Steve's favorite, Red Velvet cake from Sweet Surrenders. It is really good. We played smell the dirty diapers and then everyone had to make a baby out of play dough and Steve and I had to be the judge of the best looking baby. Well, whose do you choose when your boss is there and your bosses bosses wife is there and so on? Steve works with some wonderful people. And they were so gracious with some much needed gifts. We received a car seat, a high chair, bouncy seat, 2 noise machines, a cute lion outfit, some organic bath soaps and lotions and some gift cards. WOW! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!!!

PREGO

Pregnancy this time around wasn't any better than the others. And I still don't LOVE being pregnant. The outcome is wonderful, but the 9 months before I can do without. I actually have pretty good pregnancies when compared to others. I get heartburn like 24/7. I swell a little, okay maybe alot. I don't sleep well and just really don't enjoy waddling around, but that's all. I also missed my OB of 10 years.

The highlights: hearing the heartbeat, feeling him move ALL the time, getting a 3D ulstrasound, having the other kids kiss and feel my tummy, front row parking spots, people holding doors open for me and a new maternity wardrobe.
