Just for Fun Friday - Their First Birthday Party!

Love that Mathew just went for it face and all and that Rachel was very dainty about the whole thing.  Nothing like giving your babies their own cake to dive into.

Indoor Soccer 2014 Go AZTECS!

Matthew's second season of indoor soccer at the zone with the Aztecs.  It's just extra playing time for them.  They played lots of teams that only play indoor soccer and still held their ground.  Matthew's real game though is out on the field.

Harlem Globetrotters

It was the boys turn and these are the tickets that came up next,  The Harlem Globetrotters.  Thank you OXY!  This was a fun date night with Ethan and Matthew, albeit I wasn't that impressed with the show.  We picked Ethan up from swim practice, he shoved some dinner down and off we went.  This is what Ethan remembers about that night: 2 churros + 2 gatorades = $20.  I remember that 2 boys + 2 parents = a night to remember.   

CCB Paso Robles Soccer Tournament

This place used to be farmland turned into soccer park. (Templeton, CA) We were led down some narrow dirt roads through some trees and then BAM! There you were, at the park. Besides watching Matthew do his thing and do it well, the next best thing was that Jacob got to play on a real tractor. So Cool!

 

Braces AGAIN!

Here we are again, the second time around. We waited a little for some more growing and movement of teeth and now we are going to finish the job. Matthew has been such a great sport through it all. He doesn't complain about it much, except when he realizes he can't eat anything after his braces have been tightened and his mouth is sore so he asks me to make him some oatmeal. Now if we can just get him to brush his teeth with a toothbrush and toothpaste and water and longer than 2 seconds.    

Just "Chillaxen"

Not very often does Matthew need a bubble bath after a long day of soccer, but this was one of those days. He is a rockstar out on the soccer field. Way to Go Matthew @ State Cup.

The Zone - Indoor Soccer

This was Matthews first Indoor Soccer Game.

I had to be goalie for the first half and did not like it. But then I scored a goal in the second half. It was fun.

(Matthew volunteered to be goalie since their regular goalie wasn't there yet and his coach said he loves Matthew's attitude. He can do anything he wants to. You could tell Matthew was a little stressed being goalie, something you don't normally see in him, but he did great.)

I can't believe that these two tiny babies are already 12.  I now have 3 children mutual age.  Rachel gets to come with me now to all the young women activities and Matthew gets the Aaronic Priesthood. Lots of exciting things are in store for these two tiny babies.  I love them with all my heart.  They are not your typical set of twins.  In fact, most people are surprised when they find out that they are twins.  They are total opposites and I don't just mean physically. It has been fun watching them grow up together in the same household, with the same influence and still turn out so different. They are however your typical boy and girl.  Rachel started talking way before Matthew did, but Matthew started running way before Rachel started crawling.  Rachel is very neat and precise and Matthew is carefree and active.  And I love everything about them both.
