Baby Seph

Amber and Mike Brunson came over for dinner tonight. I tried out a new recipe. I shouldn't do this when company comes but I think it turned out great. It was a recipe from my visiting teacher. It was Creamy White Chili. I always make the regular white chili and love it and now have a new favorite.

We also got to finally meet their new baby Seph, short for Joseph. He is a cute baby even when he cries. We had fun hanging out, playing a litte rock band and wii games. I was having fun with their other little one, Van, until he turned to run away from me laughing and ran right into our dinning room chair and smacked his head good. He had a nice bump on his head when he left.

Mike was trying real hard to keep up with the kids on Rock Band. He was much more at ease when it came to Bowling with Rachel and Baseball with Matthew. Thanks for visiting guys!

Happy 1st Birthday Baby Matthew!

Here is Matthew the last time we saw him, six months ago.

He celebrated his 1st birthday January 24. I sort of missed it. But we still want to wish him a happy birthday and hope that being one is all that it should be. He is one cutie patootie!!!

Okay, everyone loves girl scout cookies. And since I haven't taken Rachel out selling cookies, blogging about it is the next best thing. She has been begging everyday to go selling. Thin Mints: The most enduring and universally familiar Girl Scout cookie. These round, mint-flavored cookies covered with dark chocolate perennially sell the most boxes of any cookie. Thin Mints have never changed their name. Little Brownie Bakers and ABC Bakers both make Thin Mints.

Samoas® or Caramel deLites®: These are round doughnut-shaped cookies about two inches in diameter with a hole in the center, covered in caramel and toasted coconut, and then striped with chocolate. Samoas® are made by Little Brownie Bakers. The ABC version is called Caramel deLites®.

Get Back Up

I saw this for the first time on minermoments January 7, 2009 and immediately had my boys watch it. I didn't say much to them afterwards, just wanted it to sink in for a little bit and have their minds ponder it for a while. They have both mentioned something about it since. I think they were touched just as much as I was.

It is very inspiring and no matter what kind of day or week I am having or what I may be complaining about, or what trial I am enduring, I can still be happy. We can all be happy and we can ALL get back up! How I count my many blessings! Get Back Up by Nick Vujicic (look hiim up)

MLK 2009 - Brazos Bend State Park

We had another great vacation day at Brazos Bend State Park, home of the American Alligators. And of course, I have just a few pictures to prove it.

This Weekends Basketball Highlights

I only have pictures of Rachel and Matthew this weekend. Sometimes it is just hard to be in 4 places at one time. I got to Rachel's game late and I had 3 mom's come up to me and tell me how awesome she was doing and that she stole the ball probably 15 times. I love watching my kids do their thing.

Matthew's game was just as exciting. He was the tallest player from both teams. He is even playing with a finger that just lost it's fingernail. He is one tough cookie.
I so need a better camera or at least I should figure out how to use the one I have.

The referee had to stop for a second and ask the girls to move, but they couldn't hear him so he started blowing his whistle and teasingly hurried them along. Lauren was extremely embarrassed and Rachel tried to play it cool, while everyone in the audience was laughing.
