Matthew and Rachel's 12th Birthday!

Happy 12th Birthday Rachel & Matthew

I can't believe that these two tiny babies are already 12.  I now have 3 children mutual age.  Rachel gets to come with me now to all the young women activities and Matthew gets the Aaronic Priesthood. Lots of exciting things are in store for these two tiny babies.  I love them with all my heart.  They are not your typical set of twins.  In fact, most people are surprised when they find out that they are twins.  They are total opposites and I don't just mean physically. It has been fun watching them grow up together in the same household, with the same influence and still turn out so different. They are however your typical boy and girl.  Rachel started talking way before Matthew did, but Matthew started running way before Rachel started crawling.  Rachel is very neat and precise and Matthew is carefree and active.  And I love everything about them both.

Jacob's 2nd BIRTHDAY

Our Sweet Baby Boy is two years old already.  Not only is he the sweetest baby boy but he is the cutest and happiest and smartest and enthusiastic and tenderhearted baby boy too.  We love this baby so much.  He has brought so much joy into our ever so busy household.  He helps us all stop and smell the roses.  He has all wrapped around his little finger.  How would it be to only be 2 and have so much control. 

Happy Happy Birthday Jacob Dear!!!

 

 We were able to celebrate his birthday at Grandma and Grandpa Spendloves along with Aunt Lisa, Aunt Sarah and Aunt Rebecca who were there visiting for Grandma's birthday trip to Disneyland.  This is going to be tradition for Jacob.  His first year birthday we got to celebrate with Grandpa while he stayed with us when Grandma and her girls went to Disneyland.  When Jacob was born, they all came to visit us as this Disneyland birthday trip fell on the same weekend.  We love our family!

 Jacob has discovered Choo Choo Trains and this was the perfect gift.  {Almost a month later and he is still in love with this birthday gift}

Lauren's 8th Birthday

This fun loving little girl wanted pizza for breakfast, McDonalds for lunch and BBQ pizza for dinner with Ice Cream and anything for Dessert.

She wanted a beach cruiser bike just like her friends for her birthday.  She looks pretty darn cute on it!!!

Ethan's 13th Birthday!

Dear Ethan, Happy Birthday to the SMARTEST teenager we know!  You are a STARBURST in our eyes!  We know you will go far in life.  Like all the way to ORBIT and back.  Your uniqueness and ORIGINAL-ity (skittles) make you special.  You know how to take everything in STRIDE. Jacob, mom and the rest of us love your (gummy) BEAR hugs.  We know you can make it to the BIG LEAGUE (chewing gum).  But whatever you do.... It is UP2U.  Thanks for always going the extra mile or going to the EXTREMES. 
You are a SWEETHEART.  Love all us NERDS.

The Pool Party. 

We had a cotton candy machine, borrowed a professional snowcone machine, grilled hamburgers, volleyball net, a tetherball set and swimming.  What else do teenagers need? 

Ethan made arrangements with our Bishop to go wakeboarding for his birthday.  He loves this.  We brought some KFC and had our family night with the Hendersons at Buena Vista Lake.  This was the only picture we got before the battery died on the camera.  But Ethan got up on his first try, like a champ.

Happy 13th Birthday Ethan!!!

HaPPy 13th BiRtHDaY ETHAN!!!!

Wow, we have a teenager in the house now. And what a wonderful teenager he is.

He is a great big brother. He loves his baby brother and it shows by the way he takes great care of him. He is a hard worker. He loves a good game of soccer or basketball or football and ultimate Frisbee. He is a great swimmer too.  When it comes to biking, he can keep up with all the big guys. He loves a good workout and is just a "little" competitive. He is smart. He makes us laugh. He loves to make money. He is a good dancer.  He is pretty good on a pogo stick with a jump rope too.  He is very confident. He makes good choices. He takes holding the priesthood seriously. He is a great leader. He loves to give hugs. And we love everything about him.

Matthew's 10th Birthday Party

Since it is not a very good idea to have a swim party in January, Matthew had his birthday party in June.  Dad grilled hamburgers and hot dogs.  Matthew wanted a banana cream pie and we made a cookie cake for those who might not enjoy the pie as much as he does.  They had a water balloon and water gun fights.  They played a little volleyball, shot off water rockets, swam and jumped on the tramp.  Love that they entertain themselves. 

This is what Matthew had to say about it: "It was a really MANLY birthday party. I got like $80. And we had wars. Glad all my friends came."

Rachel's 10th Birthday Party

It was fun to have a summer party for Rachel instead of in January. We had fun making her invitations.  Girls are much more mellow as long as there are not any boys around.  They giggled and laughed alot.  We had lots of junk food, grilled hamburgers and a cookie cake.

Rachel: Had lots of fun!! Glad everyone could make it! Hope to have another great one next year. We had so much fun in our big donut floaty. I got a soccer ball, a scrap book, art paper along with paper and things to put in it and decorate it, a pillow case wth dancing frogs on it, a gift card. some posted notes, a big sparkly cup, and some money.
