Puppy Love

This was our pound puppy Duke.  We wanted to do the right thing by picking out a puppy from the SPCA.  I kind of pulled a trick on Steve and took the kids there first and we found one that we wanted.  So we brought Steve back to look at it and he didn't stand a chance of leaving without one.  So here he is.  He looks all cute and  happy, however, he had other issues.  Everytime any man stepped in the house or backyard this little pup would cowar in a corner and pee all over himself.  He was pretty unpredictable and so after about 6 months (we tried) back to the pound he went.  

San Diego Visitors #12

We were so lucky to be able to spend our 4 day weekend with family. Thank you President Cleveland for this Labor Day Holiday in America.

Stuart and Kathy brought their family up from San Diego late Friday Night so we were able to have a full day with them on Saturday, Sunday and some of Monday.

We got in as much swimming as we could on Saturday in between 3 soccer games. It was so nice to have a few more cheerleaders at the games. And we really appreciated that everyone endured the heat to be a support.

After church on Sunday, our activities included a lot of games, making a Get Well Banner for Grandpa, some BBQ Pizza eating, Summer's Birthday Celebration and a lot of Karaoke, Primary Style.

The girls worked really hard on this banner. Grandpa Spendlove had a heart attack a few weeks ago and was back in the hospital. So Stuart and Kathy stopped by on their way home for a visit and gave him the banner from all of us.

The Master Chef at work on his famous BBQ Pizza, yum yum!!! It was also one of Summer's favorite meals, so in honor of her birthday the BBQ King went to work.

The moment we've all been waiting for, Summer's Party! Kathy made her an ice cream cake that we ALL loved. It was so good we finished it off for breakfast the next morning.

Happy 9th Birthday Summer!!!

Spendloves have Braces Now

Well, the time has finally come. Ethan and Matthew both got braces. I think they were a little excited until the day after.
Ethan got braces all the way around for about 18 months, needless to say, his mouth hurt a little bit more and he made sure we all knew about it.
Matthew just has 6 brackets on top and a special retainer on the bottom to help him from not biting his top braces off for about 6 months. This will help correct his underbite as long as he doesn't lose his retainer.
They have both been really good about watching what they eat and keeping those teeth clean. Can't wait to see the finish product!
