Farewell Browns

Lisa arranged for some of her girl's friends to come for a farewell play date, since they were leaving a couple weeks earlier to go start school. Well, it turned into another fabulous block party. We stayed out late, ordered pizza, made S'mores (Yes, in the middle of our street over THE fire pit.)and laughed and played a lot.

Allison put together a nice photo album of all the kids to give to the girls as a memory of MP. She had some super sweet things to say to them when she presented the book. I made a big cookie cake for dessert that everyone loved. I guess I am keeping that recipe a secret too.

We took lots of pictures and had a good ole time.

Ethan's Big FOOT!

Ethan started playing soccer the middle of August and probably the middle of September he started complaining that his heal really hurt. He even asked to go to the doctor a few times. But we couldn't see anything and give it time it will get better. So he kept playing on it for another 3 or 4 weeks. It was after one practice that he said he had to go. So we took him to urgent care and they took this X-ray and told us he broke his heal and sent us to a orthopedic.

The orthopedic asked us who told us he broke his heal. Because it wasn't a broken heal it was an inflamed growth plate. So for the next 4 weeks he gets to wear this.
Thus we call it the BIG FOOT! He is looking pretty cool. He loved the attention. And the fact that he doesn't have to go to PE. He has been working in the office and helping out at the elementary school during that period. BUT he has missed a few soccer games. He has gone to support his team and can't wait to get back into the game. They need this guys help.

Alexia's 8th B'day Party (Her Golden B'day)

Not only was Rachel's new best friend/neighbor right across the street having a birthday but she was also moving away. There had been talk about this being Alexia's 8 birthday on October 8 and that meant that you get 8 presents as it is your Golden B'day.   SO Rachel was determined to make sure Alexia received 8 gifts.

Rachel made her a picture frame with a picture of the two of them.
She made her a bottle cap necklace like the one she had made at Achievement Days. It had 3-4 interchangeable bottle caps. Super Cute!!!
She got her a Justin Bieber CD.
AND a Justin Bieber T-shirt.
We went to Justice to pick out a few more things, like;

a sparkling blue scarf

a blue peace choker necklace

a sparkling pink headband
and a BFF necklace

It was fun to watch her open all 8 gifts. Rachel was very excited.

Lauren also made Kya a frame and bottle cap necklace as a going away gift.

I know gifts are just material things, but it was our expression of how much we have enjoyed being their neighbors, for their friendship and of how much we are going to miss them.
