The Schuring Family - Visitor #10

After the Schuring's left their summer resort (G&G Spendlove's) they headed a little north to our house. Yeah!!!!
We were so glad to be able to spend more time with them. I didn't get too many pictures, maybe because we were having too much fun. But just a lot of swimming and hanging out.

They were able to stay a night and then we all headed a little more north to the Trail of 100 Giants in the Sequoia National Park to spend the rest of the day together. (see next post)

Mini Spendlove Reunion

We arrived in Santa Paula late Saturday evening after the attending a wedding reception, but just in time to say hi to everyone before hopping into bed, the floor, the couch, the sleeping bag or the air mattress. For this mini reunion there were 22 of us.

I think Sunday morning went pretty well and the Santa Paula Ward loved having us fill up all the empty church pews.

We played a fun game that Uncle Stuart taught us around the kitchen table. I can't remember the name but can remember how to play and can't share it right now. We just have to play it.
We ended this session of the reunion with Happy Birthday cake for Aunt Sarah, Uncle Stuart, Nephi & Spencer, before . Steve, Rebecca, Stuart and his family had to head home.
The rest of us stayed for a day of fun at the beach. Lisa and her family and Grandma took us to Carpinteria Beach.









It was a fun day with lots of excitement. I was off getting lunch when supposedly Matthew met up with a Stingray. The lifeguard said it just scrapped the side of his foot and that he was alright. He had Matthew soak his foot for awhile and bandaged it up good. This picture doesn't show it very well at all. But I think the whole ordeal frightened Matthew a little as everyone was talking about Steve Irwin being killed by a stingray.

We stayed one more night before heading home. I don't have as much energy as I used too. So a good night sleep before driving home sounded good. And we also stopped by Great Grandma's house on the way home.

I stole this picture from Lisa's FB. I don't know when it was taken but I thought it was such a cool picture. I think we should get Grandpa a Harley. He is one tough looking dude.

Clark & Julianna's Wedding Reception

Steve & Ethan just got back from Scout Camp and we headed to Simi Valley for Julianna's wedding reception on our way to Santa Paula for a little mini Spendlove family reunion for the weekend. We got to the reception just in time for the garter and bouquet toss. Ethan was the lucky fellow that night. He is still not quite sure what to do with the really nice garter he caught. The reception was in Jani's backyard. It was beautiful and of course all the food THEY made was wonderful.

We got our picture with the happy newlyweds right before they were getting ready to leave. We missed her beautiful dress.

Aunt Rebecca - Visitor #9

Our visitor #8 was actually Uncle Stuart. I didn't get a picture. But he was driving through Bakersfield on his way home from Boy Scout Camp with a few Boy Scouts and stopped by to say HI! We love visitors, no matter how long they stay. (Well, there could be a limit.)

AND visitor #9 was Aunt Rebecca. She arrived just in time to see Ethan before he headed off to his Boy Scout Camp. Then the rest of us went to see Toy Story 3. For a #3 it was a great movie.

We spent some time swimming before we loaded back up to shopping for a sofa sleeper that we saw a good deal on. Thank you Aunt Rebecca for enduring shopping experience with all of us. We did however end the day with some overloaded yummy pizza from Plumberrys. I have heard they had really good pizza, so we tried it out on Rebecca @ 10pm.

We kept ourselves busy with a few sewing projects. Rebecca made herself a nice body pillow case to match her bedding, Rachel learned a few new skills on her little sewing machine that Aunt Kari gave her and I made Matthew a brown furry pillow for his bed. He eventually wants a jungle themed room.

Our last day with Aunt Rebecca was spent out in the pool having fun and relaxing before she had to leave us.

But on her way out of town she took US to Dewars Icecream Shop. I do feel bad that I gave her the wrong directions to get out of town. I guess I just really didn't want her to leave. Thanks again for a good time.
