SLC and Leyton, Utah

We took one night and stayed with Aunt Nin. She is a character. We love hanging out with this cute as a button Great Grandma/Aunt. The kids love her. She is my Grandma Cannon's sister. (Actually she is her cousin, but when she was little her parents died and her and her brother came to live with my grandma and so they are sisters.) It was fun but also a little sad, knowing that my grandma is Aunt Nin's same age and is in a totally different state with her Alzheimer's. 

Our next stop was in Leyton, Utah.  We stayed with the Wetzel's (Mandi's parents)  Everyone has been so hospitable.  It was nice having some one on one time with Eric and his family.   Missing our cousins!!!

The kids took a walk to the nearest gas station to buy themselves a little treat.  Great idea for an adventure.

Salt Lake City {Cannon Family Reunion}

I am writing this about 8 months later and can't really remember the order of events. We did pack so much into to our trip, which was great!

The crew from Neola travelled to SLC and met Uncle Ryan and Uncle Eric and his family at the Jewish Center for a little swimming in the beautiful weather of Utah.  We couldn't wait to see the rest of the Cannon's.

Mom, Dad, Melissa and kids, Ryan and Darrin and family had a BBQ in the park and enjoyed a little relaxation while Steve and Ethan were enjoying their bike ride.

While Steve and Ethan were still on their bike ride, the rest of us went to the spray park at the Gateway in SLC.

The "Cannon Reunion" at temple square.  We actually spent most of our time in the bookstore, but at least we somehow managed to get a family picture.  Thanks everyone for indulging me.  Getting pictures of this crew is almost like torture.

Lunch at Jason's Deli.  This was one of my favorite restaurants in Texas.  Haven't seen one in California yet.

We spent the rest of our time with the Cannon's at This is The Place Heritage Park.  This is a 450 acre park where you can experience hands on what Frontier life was like working in the 19th Century.  Their mission is to preserve and promote the heritage and history of Utah.  Lots of fun activities, crafts, pony rides, panning for gold,  doing laundry and playing games to name a few.  It also rained on us which added to the fun.

Hurricane & Neola

Our trip to Utah started out with a stop in Hurricane.  Like always we got off to a late start and wanted to spend some time with our cousins from Texas who were visiting family in Hurricane so we ended up staying the night with them.  It was perfect.  We slipped into nicely made beds for us as we arrived really late.  Then we woke up to hot pancakes and homemade jam.  We stayed with Aunt Amy's parents.  Amy and the kids were visiting and we met our cousin/niece McKinley for the first time and they met Jacob for the first time.  We sure do miss them.

On our way home from Utah we stopped back in Hurricane to see Uncle Scott.  Scott was there now to pick up his family and take them back home to Texas.   We were able to see everyone on both sides of our family while in Utah except for Elder Chris Spendlove who is serving a mission in the Santa Rosa Mission.

2nd Stop in Hurricane

Next Stop - Neola, Ut.  Not really sure where we were just that it seemed like it was out in the middle of no where, it was beautiful and we found Darrin, Janna, Hailey, Emma, Kamren and Grandma and Grandpa Cannon there.  We stayed the next two nights at Darrin and Janna's house.  We did a little tubing in cold water, Smore's around the campfire, Hide N Go Seek, Playtime with the rabbits and chickens, and enjoyed going to church with them.
