In October the Laurels, like always, had service on their minds . So we wet to visit Sister Wilhite in the nursing home. She was a lot of fun to talk to. We came with a list of questions to ask her and found out she has a little wild streak in her. We also found out that the sweet old lady that stays across from her, sleeps a lot with her mouth wide open, snores and talks a lot about her orange trees. Just a little funny for us girls. Our next service for the month was cleaning Sister Wheeler's home. She is bound to wheelchair and loved loved loved us coming. I think mainly for the conversation. She is a sweet lady to visit with.
We ended up not having ym/yw activity so the yw made lunches for the local soup kitchen, special Halloween treats for our bishopric and we registered each of the young women on
www.newfamilysearch.org so we can print out their family fanchart, which I think is so cool.

The beehives had a personal progress activity where they did a little baking. Cute Cute Maddy!
The Miamiads had a night with the teachers were they learned some dances and then another night were they dressed up and used what they learned in a more formal manner. These kids were so well mannered and had so much fun with each other.

October's Combined Activity was a busy night. We started with IHOP (Important Hour Of Progress) Our PP leader, Sister Beatty, helped us finish an experience in Faith while we all at pancakes that were made by the wild and crazy Laurels. They had way too much fun in the kitchen with some help from the wild and crazy Sister Hall.
The young women were so excited for the second half of the evening. We had bags and bags of young women size clothes donated to us. Plus, some of the girls donated a few of their own. We thought it would be a great idea to have an auction or fun way to earn these clothes. (Pretty much a clothing swap) So we opened up Brimhall's Closet. When the girls arrived they had to fill out a questionnaire with questions like, did you read your scriptures this morning? And they earned so many points to use in the store. The girls with the most points got to go shopping first and they had only 3 minutes to pick one item. Then second time around they were able to get more until it was all gone. I love seeing these girls wearing their Brimhall closet outfits to church and loving them.
