Planetarium w/ Lauren and friends

So I was able to go on a field trip this year with Lauren. And yes I got to ride a school bus. And now I have a greater appreciation for school bus drivers. We went to Bakersfield College to their Panetarium. I think I am ready to go back to school to learn. I loved it.  The show included a tour of the evening sky pointing out the major constellations, an all-dome video show, and question-answer time with the resident astronomer, Nick Strobel. We were in a dark room, with comfy seats, watching a great show.  Nick Strobel was very interesting and put together a nice slide show. And I got to spend time with Lauren!!!  and her friend Mina.

 

Lauren's favorite part was that she got to miss most of school.  She said she didn't learn anything! Oh, wait different things about different planets.

I DID IT!

I made my own magic potion and finally got rid of the ants that were coming out of everywhere. It took about three days of feeding them, but it worked. At least it has for about 3 months now. WOOHOO!!

GARBAGE TRUCK!

Jacob is infatuated with Garbage Trucks! He carries one around with him all the time. He sleeps with one all the time. AND he always clearly says, "I saw a garbage truck today take the trash out."  Yes, that is a 10 word sentence by my 2 1/2 year old.

Spring Select Soccer - Liberty United

Ethan was on a great team this time around.  Liberty United!  The coach was in it 100% but Ethan and him butt heads enough that he didn't want to continue on.  He was on this team for two seasons and then the team even got invited to a tournament in Tennessee.  We opted out for a couple of reasons.  One, it was going to interfere with Lauren's baptism and Two, it was going to be an expense we weren't prepared for and Three, Ethan wasn't that excited about it.  But it was a great run while it lasted.  And we love to watch Ethan perform in all that he does. 

 

 

Harlem Globetrotters

It was the boys turn and these are the tickets that came up next,  The Harlem Globetrotters.  Thank you OXY!  This was a fun date night with Ethan and Matthew, albeit I wasn't that impressed with the show.  We picked Ethan up from swim practice, he shoved some dinner down and off we went.  This is what Ethan remembers about that night: 2 churros + 2 gatorades = $20.  I remember that 2 boys + 2 parents = a night to remember.

Even when he cries and is upset, he is so cute. I have a hard time not laughing because his cuteness just melts my heart. Not sure who took this picture, but they caught a moment.

General Young Women's Conference

So I really wanted to BE there at this General Young Women's Conference with Rachel. It was her first one and a nice trip to Utah with her sounded great. But it didn't work out this TIME. We did just get back from a great spring break camping trip at Lake Lopez, cleaned up and went to our Stake Center where they served us dinner and then watched another wonderful conference. We sat next to Patti Morris and her girls and Rachel couldn't stop laughing on the way home because of a story she told about her trip to Trader Joes. She had to return something and was working with an employer who she found out was deaf and he was reading her lips, she kept getting louder and louder....... Rachel just thought that was so funny.

It Hit All But ONE!

Just a bit of real life here.  There were 18 families in our ward that was hit with this awful flu like stuff.  I was told it was a norovirus.  It was violent but quick.  In our household, Jacob got it, then I got it, then Rachel, Matthew & Steve.  Ethan was so busy with school, swim and teenage life, I don't think he was home enough to get it.  Lucky him!

Oh my goodness. When this girl likes something she likes it. She is also a little bit of a hoarder. I just found these special things in a bag under her bed. She actually called me one day at school to ask me to bring her some other shoes she could wear to P.E. because these boots were causing her a little trouble. I'm sorry Lauren but I had to through these away. But I did take a picture so you will always remember them.

CCB Paso Robles Soccer Tournament

This place used to be farmland turned into soccer park. (Templeton, CA) We were led down some narrow dirt roads through some trees and then BAM! There you were, at the park. Besides watching Matthew do his thing and do it well, the next best thing was that Jacob got to play on a real tractor. So Cool!
