The Beginning of Our Blog Experience

I am always walking by my computer and checking my email in hopes of some great and exciting news from my family and friends and every once in a while I get lucky. It has become a bad habit and waste of my time, because once I get online I somehow get stuck to my uncomfortable computer chair and can't seem to get away. So I thought I would do something useful during those times when I am stuck....
I can't believe I just started a blog and I love it. I love reading and learning all about my really cool family and friends on their blogs. I am looking at this as my journal writing and scrapbooking time, which I never had before, but it sounds good. So here goes!
I am actually going to back up a little, because aside from the wonderful everyday happenings in our home, I have had a few life changing experiences recently that I want to share.

Happy Birthday Great Grandpa Cannon!

Today My Grandpa, John George Cannon, would be 88 years old. He died almost 9 years ago, while I was pregnant with my twins. And I still feel his love and want to laugh every time I think of him and see his pictures. He was always looking for a good joke or telling one, along with his many many stories. I remember his pretend dog. He had a stiff leash and collar that made it look like you were walking an invisible dog. He loved playing games. He had a smile that would light up every room he went in to.

He was very in tune with the spirit. It wasn't uncommon to see this man with tears running down his cheeks as he felt the spirit. His testimony of the gospel was strong and it showed in everything that he did. His service in the church and for everyone around him will never be forgotten. I wish all of my children were able to meet him here on this earth, but I love to hear them talk about him and wonder what he was like.
I love you Grandpa!

Ballet & Tap Dance Recital 2008

This has been fun watching these two beauties dance. A sister in our ward, Lee'sa Williams, was offering dance lessons in her garage studio. Rachel enjoyed it but assured me she didn't want to do it again. Lauren was loving most of it. She likes to do her own kind of dancing. She likes the freestyle dancing. Ballet may be a little too structured for her. The recital was nice. Rachel did a great job and looked adorable in her hot pink leotard. Lauren was cute in her own little way, I guess! She wouldn't dance with her group. We all tried everything we could think of to convince her to find her spot on stage, but it wasn't going to happen. Oh well! And she still got some flowers and refreshments, hugs and kisses and we got some great pictures of her classic pouty face. Just keeping it real!

Easter 2008

Aunt Kari (& Uncle Scott) are always great hosts and so gracious to have our crew over for many special occasions.  Easter 2008 is one of many and many more to come.  We love creating these sweet memories.  We also love our Savior, Jesus Christ.  And are happy to Celebrate His Life on this Easter Sunday!
