Harlem Globetrotters

It was the boys turn and these are the tickets that came up next,  The Harlem Globetrotters.  Thank you OXY!  This was a fun date night with Ethan and Matthew, albeit I wasn't that impressed with the show.  We picked Ethan up from swim practice, he shoved some dinner down and off we went.  This is what Ethan remembers about that night: 2 churros + 2 gatorades = $20.  I remember that 2 boys + 2 parents = a night to remember.

Even when he cries and is upset, he is so cute. I have a hard time not laughing because his cuteness just melts my heart. Not sure who took this picture, but they caught a moment.

General Young Women's Conference

So I really wanted to BE there at this General Young Women's Conference with Rachel. It was her first one and a nice trip to Utah with her sounded great. But it didn't work out this TIME. We did just get back from a great spring break camping trip at Lake Lopez, cleaned up and went to our Stake Center where they served us dinner and then watched another wonderful conference. We sat next to Patti Morris and her girls and Rachel couldn't stop laughing on the way home because of a story she told about her trip to Trader Joes. She had to return something and was working with an employer who she found out was deaf and he was reading her lips, she kept getting louder and louder....... Rachel just thought that was so funny.

It Hit All But ONE!

Just a bit of real life here.  There were 18 families in our ward that was hit with this awful flu like stuff.  I was told it was a norovirus.  It was violent but quick.  In our household, Jacob got it, then I got it, then Rachel, Matthew & Steve.  Ethan was so busy with school, swim and teenage life, I don't think he was home enough to get it.  Lucky him!

Lauren's BOOTS

Oh my goodness. When this girl likes something she likes it. She is also a little bit of a hoarder. I just found these special things in a bag under her bed. She actually called me one day at school to ask me to bring her some other shoes she could wear to P.E. because these boots were causing her a little trouble. I'm sorry Lauren but I had to through these away. But I did take a picture so you will always remember them.

CCB Paso Robles Soccer Tournament

This place used to be farmland turned into soccer park. (Templeton, CA) We were led down some narrow dirt roads through some trees and then BAM! There you were, at the park. Besides watching Matthew do his thing and do it well, the next best thing was that Jacob got to play on a real tractor. So Cool!

 

Braces AGAIN!

Here we are again, the second time around. We waited a little for some more growing and movement of teeth and now we are going to finish the job. Matthew has been such a great sport through it all. He doesn't complain about it much, except when he realizes he can't eat anything after his braces have been tightened and his mouth is sore so he asks me to make him some oatmeal. Now if we can just get him to brush his teeth with a toothbrush and toothpaste and water and longer than 2 seconds.    

The Wedding Cake (rebecca & scott)

This is probably the best atmosphere I have ever baked a wedding cake in. Not only was it beautiful, but it was quiet and people free, it had an overabundance of counterspace and a double oven. I have baked cakes in my own home with kids all around, I have baked a cake in a small basement apartment of a gracious brother-in-law, I have baked a cake using two different ovens at two different locations and then finished in a small kitchen of a stranger to me. I have also baked a wedding cake in my sweet brother's teeny tiny kitchen that had about 2 feet of counter space a little table that we locked the wings up and it still shook. This was a very pleasant experience and the owners of the home just let me have total control of their kitchen and were also such great host.  I also didn't have to transport it to the reception as it was already there.  And I am pretty sure the cake tasted good.  Rebecca picked chocolate cake with raspberry filling and white cake with pineapple filling.     

Travelling to Arizona

Travelling with 7 people in a minivan is better than a stationwagon or even better than back of small toyota pickup truck with a camper shell on top. However, it's still full of it's special moments. Like when Jacob smears Cheez Whiz all over himself, the carseat and the window. It is also a great time to enjoy eating lots of goodies and if we are lucky it is good sleeping time.  I don't know how my parents did it without some good movies to watch, it really did save some lives. 
Arizona, here we come!  On our way to Aunt Rebecca and soon to be Uncle Scott's wedding.

Girl's Pedicures for Rebecca's Wedding

The big girls as in Rebecca and her sisters and SIL and Mom schedule a pedicure date before the wedding when we were all together and so I took these cute girls to get their nails done before we left for the wedding. It is always nice to get pampered. Rachel was especially in love with hers and Lauren just loved the idea of the whole thing. I just love my girls.
