Chess Anyone?

When we moved here the school that my kids were supposed to go to, Independence, was full. So they sent them to American Elementary. Matthew was actually sick when school started. So by the time he started school there was room for one third grader. So we gave him the choice. Independence would be nice because that is where he supposed to be going and that is where he would start next year anyway, if not this year. But American Elementary had a Chess Club, which was his deciding factor.

Well, we were able to send him to Indpendence and just take him over to American after school for Chess Club. He loves it. He even recruited a couple friends to come with him. Here he is with his friend Jack who has completely absorbed Chess into his life. So much so his fabulous mom is going to start the Chess Club up at their school next year. YEAH!!!

Jack was able to go to the tournament and he did really well. Matthew, however, was forced to go to Disneyland instead. It was ALMOST force, that's how much he loves it.
