Emily Jones Baby Shower

I helped put on a baby shower for my friend Emily.  She had a little trouble getting her family started and was able to adopt a sweet baby girl, Shea, who is Matthew and Rachel's age.  Then had 3 boys, Alex, Cody (Lauren's age) and now Zach.  This story sounds a little all too familiar, she just needs one more boy. 

Emily & Stefan lived around the corner from us when we first moved to Katy and we were in the Westlake Ward together.  I was her visiting teacher and will always remember going to her house on September 11, 2001 to wish her a Happy Birthday.  Then she moved to the other side of I-10 and we followed.  So we were in the Katy 2nd Ward together, also. Great Memories!

NOW (Just as good looking as ever! However, I am sure I was never the cause of any of that grey hair!!)
I just want to let my Mom and Dad know how much I love them and appreciate all that they do for not just me, but everyone. They are great examples of people who serve others and have charity. They work harder than anyone I know. They are extremely selfless. Their testimonies of the gospel are strong and it shows. When they have time, they know how to have fun. Their patience is unbelievable. They have friends everywhere they go. I am so blessed to have them for my parents and grandparents to my children. I truly admire them, look up to them and strive to be more like them.

Happy Birthday Grandpa Spendlove!

Happy 70th Birthday Grandpa. These are some of my favorite pictures of Grandpa being Grandpa.

I don't think anyone quotes this scripture more than Grandpa does. And he does it in such a way that all his children know how proud he is of them and how they are raising his grandchildren. He even went as far as printing it out and framing it for each of them for a Christmas present one year. He also just quoted it in his prayer that he gave at Rachel & Matthew's Baptism and it is something that we all appreciate.

Since I have known him he hasn't been a man of many words, due to his Parkinson's Disease, but you know from what he does say how much he loves you.

We love you Grandpa!

Ian Daniel Cocker Spaniel stands for "all boy". We love the enthusiasm he has about being so adventurous everywhere he goes. He is a great companion for our "all boy" Matthew. We hope he has a wonderful birthday full of all kinds of adventure and excitement. We miss you and love you tons!

Happy Birthday Aunt Mandi

Aunt Mandi is like SuperWoman. She is good at "everything" and manages to do "everything". She has four children. She homeschools. She teaches online classes. She is an Achievement Day leader & Relief Society teacher. She helps her husband with his Real Estate. She has beautiful handwriting. She extremely talented when it comes to anything crafty. She is very patient, you have to be if your married to my WONDERFUL brother Eric. She is a very good cook. It is her house you want to be at for all the holidays. She is very spontaneous and loves to have a good time.

One memory I have with her is singing Karaoke, Madonna's Material Girl, with her in the middle of a mall.

She also manages to get out of every picture I take. I don't know why, because she is also very beautiful. So I am having to go way back for this birthday post. We Love Ya Mandi!!!

Another happy celebration!  Time is flying by.  Here we are with our two 7 year olds!  Chuck E. Cheese was requested.  Our visits to Chuck E. Cheese are few and far between, so for this special day we needed another visit.  These two light up our lives.  Even though they share the same birthday, they pretty much have nothing else in common.  And we love them both for who they are.
