Matthew's First Run-Go Astros!

Matthew was so excited about this game. He played pitcher, catcher and was in the outfield. But most importantly he hit his first run. Luckily, it is on video.

However, I wish I could turn off the sound. When you hear me screaming for Matthew and telling him to touch the base, it is not because I didn't have enough confidence in him, it is because a boy earlier didn't and after he had already gone into the dugout they told him it didn't count because he didn't touch the home base. And as I was recording Matthew I couldn't see were he was very well.

Well, here he is.

Dancing with the Stars

Some of the young women in our ward are on the Cinco Ranch Stars Drill Team and for a fund raiser they held dance clinic for all the little girls. Rachel did it last year and loved it. This year Lauren was old enough to go and she couldn't wait. It really didn't helped that they had to reschedule it due to Hurricane Ike. My girls kept asking when they were going to have it. Lauren even had a dream about dancing with her babysitter, Alisa, who is on the drill team.

The girls had a great time. They taught each age group a dance, fed them pizza, and they even got a really cool T-shirt and duffle bag. I really want one of the T-shirts for myself.

It was a 5 hour clinic with a performance at the end that the parents get to come and watch. I took lots of pictures, but I still don't have my new camera figured out and they were all blurry. But I did get some video.

So Enjoy!

This is Lauren Dancing with the Stars. She is in her cute little pink leotard. She was kind of in the back, so it was hard to get all of her. You hear us laughing because she is a star in the making.

This is Rachel Dancing with the Stars. We are laughing in this one because we can't believe that is our little 7 year-old dancing like a pro.

This is Alisa, the one Lauren dreams about.

My kids always ask for Crystal to babysit, but as you can see, she is a little busy these days.

My 20th High School Reunion

It has taken me a while to write about this because I have some really mixed emotions about the whole event.

First, I can't believe I am old enough to be going to my 20th high school reunion.
Second, it's High School, and life just kept getting better after that.
Third, I never really did have much in common with the 95 other people in my graduating class.
Fourth, I just went to Steve's Reunion and had a great time and knew mine was going to be different.
Fifth, I was going to miss the Relief Society Session of Conference, which I always enjoy.
Sixth, I was excited to see everyone again.
Seventh, I wanted to see if there were any other LDS connections.
Eighth, What was I going to wear?
Ninth, I was going to be able to visit my family.
And tenth, I don't know. I just wanted to end with 10.

1. Well, I AM old enough and I am just starting to appreciate getting old and all the blessings of life that come along with it.
2. It was just like being back in high school, same cliques, BYOB, not many people have left the great town of Decatur.
3. I was able to find lots to talk about with friends I haven't seen or talked to in 20 years.
4. It was different than Steve's reunion. But what do you expect from Southern California to Northern Texas.
5. I just watched the Relief Society Conference last night and still enjoyed every bit of it.
6. I had some great surprises meeting people again. There were just a few that I couldn't recognize. I think I have fulfilled the need to ever go to a reunion again. I only took one picture, the rest are from someone else.
7. I did have a small missionary moment. A friend had remembered that I was LDS and talked a lot about some great friends they had in DC that were LDS and the relationship and respect they had for them. That was my feel good moment.
8. What to wear? Oh, whatever. You can get away with wearing just about anything anywhere.
9. Like always I had a great time with my family.
10. Overall, I am glad I went, a little disappointed and very grateful for the life I have been blessed with.

Here we are on our way...
This is the only picture I took
I borrowed these pictures

Tailgating Party with the Decatur Eagles

We drove into town just in time for halftime of the Decatur Eagles Homecoming Football Game. We are here for my 20th High School Reunion. I really just wanted to see the Eagle Dolls halftime performance. Twenty years ago I was an Eagle Doll, a drill team of 10. Well, they didn't perform during halftime because they were doing all the homecoming queen stuff. I was a little disappointed. But we had a great time tailgating with my family. They had everything all set up when we got there, with Scott's big BBQ, hamburgers and hot dogs, tables and chairs.

You can start laughing now.... Since I am in the reminiscing mode of my high school days and it will only be short lived, here are some great pictures of me on drill team from my year book. Just remember this was back in the 80's. Don't you love the big hair, tall bangs and you can't tell in the pictures but blue eye shadow was so in back then.

Sunday Afternoon in the Chicken Coup

Sunday after church in Decatur we headed over to see Eric's chickens and chicken coup that he built. My kids are soooo pet deprived. All Matthew wants for Christmas is a dog. Rachel spent the last two nights at Isabelle's and they spent lots of time naming all the chickens.

It's Not Free...But...

I have attempted the whole coupon game many times. I go through phases where I am little more diligent than others. And I just haven't found the quick an easy way for me, yet. But I love it when I realize how much I just saved. It really is a game and who doesn't like to win and save money.

Well, last week I went to a coupon class by my friend Melissa, who knows all the rules to the game and is dang good at it. For example she never pays a dime for diapers and she has so many her kids out grow them before she can use them all.

So here I go again, attempting to win the game. This week I tried the CVS deals and this is what I got, not for free, but it still feels like I won.

I paid $16.43 for all of this AND I got a total of $10.79 in extra bucks that I can use on my next visit. So you could look at it like I got all this for $5.64 or just wait till my next purchase. I am going to make it work so that I get everything free.

Yesterday, I picked a prescription up at CVS and got $3 in extra bucks and $10 off a purchase of $50 or more. I don't usually shop there because prices are usually higher than Wal-mart, but not when it works out for free.

Can you feel that I am getting the coupon fever again?

Okay, I am really slacken on my birthday commitment here.
