This is something that the Katy Stake youth have been doing for about 15 years. They organize it with a local special needs program and have over a hundred participants. It is something that is looked forward to by all.
This year we were a little worried it wasn't going to happen because of bad weather. But we went ahead and it paid off. They were all so appreciative for us holding this Special Olympics. It would have really let some kids down who have been preparing for their races, if we didn't do it.
I was touched by the love and happiness that was there that day. And glad to have been a part of it.
